BMW has no plans to make a full M version of the X7. But don’t worry—there’s still a way to get more power and excitement. You can either go for the Alpina XB7 or turn to car tuners like G-Power for an even more powerful option.
G-Power’s New Upgrade Packs Serious Power
G-Power has shared a new upgrade on social media for the BMW X7 M50i. The results are big. Their top upgrade gives the SUV:
- 690 horsepower (700 ps / 515 kW)
- 664 lb-ft of torque (900 Nm)
That’s a big jump from the stock BMW X7 M50i, which comes with:
- 523 horsepower (530 ps / 390 kW)
- 553 lb-ft of torque (750 Nm)
Even though the SUV weighs about 5,500 pounds (or 2.5 tons), it’s still very fast. It can go from 0-60 mph (97 kph) in just 4.5 seconds with the stock engine.
No Exact Speed Data Yet
G-Power hasn’t said how fast their tuned X7 can go. But with 168 more horsepower and 111 extra lb-ft of torque, it’s safe to say it’s quicker than the stock version. We expect it to cut a few tenths off the 0-60 mph time.
They also haven’t listed the price of this specific upgrade yet. But for reference, a lower 661 hp (670 ps / 493 kW) version with the same torque costs about €9,000 in Germany, which is around $9,500 USD.
Other Power Options from G-Power
If 690 hp sounds like too much, G-Power also offers smaller upgrades:
- 611 hp (620 ps / 456 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm)
- 592 hp (600 ps / 441 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm)
- 532 hp (540 ps / 397 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm)
They also tune other versions of the BMW X7, including:
- 40i (pre-facelift)
- M50d
- 40d
- 30d (diesel engines)
More Than Just Power: Aerodynamic and Interior Upgrades
G-Power doesn’t stop with the engine. They also offer a full aero kit that includes:
- Front spoiler
- Kidney grille
- Mirror caps
- Side skirts
- Rear diffuser
- Roof-mounted spoiler
Inside, you can add:
- Sport steering wheel
- Paddle shifters
- Floor mats
And if you want a totally fresh cabin, G-Power can even reupholster the whole interior.
Final Thoughts
G-Power has always done cool and clean upgrades. Their tuned BMW X7 M50i is no different. It even offers more power than the Alpina XB7. If you're looking for a fast, bold SUV with custom flair, this might be your best pick.
